Explore the fluorescence of your mineral collection with this Medium Wave UV Torch (MW) at 310nm, available in Black and supplied complete with a rechargeable battery and a separate USB-powered battery charging unit.

A dedicated medium wave torch adds another wavelength to your fluorescent mineral viewing setup, allowing you to compare how specimens respond under Medium Wave (MW), Short Wave (SW) and Long Wave (LW) ultraviolet light.

Medium Wave UV – 310nm

This torch provides 310nm UV-B for viewing minerals that respond to medium wave ultraviolet light.

Some specimens display different fluorescent colours or intensities under MW compared with SW or LW. Viewing your collection under different wavelengths can reveal fluorescent responses that are less apparent under other UV lighting.

Not every fluorescent mineral responds to medium wave UV. Results vary according to the specimen and its mineral composition.

Battery & Charging

The torch includes a rechargeable battery and a separate USB-powered battery charging unit.

Remove the battery from the torch and place it in the supplied charging unit to recharge. The torch does not charge directly by USB.
