Discover our collection of genuine Impactites & Impact Glass, extraordinary geological materials created during meteorite impacts. These remarkable specimens preserve evidence of some of the most powerful natural events in Earth's history, offering collectors, educators and researchers a unique opportunity to own material directly linked to ancient impact events.

Our collection includes authenticated impactites, formed when terrestrial rocks were fractured, melted or transformed by meteorite impacts, together with genuine natural impact glass created as molten rock cooled rapidly following impact. Every specimen has been carefully selected for its authenticity, scientific significance and collector appeal.

Whether you are expanding a meteorite collection, studying planetary geology or searching for an exceptional display specimen, these fascinating materials provide a tangible connection to Earth's impact history and the extraordinary forces that have shaped our planet.

As our collection continues to grow, additional authenticated specimens from recognised impact structures around the world will be added.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is an impactite?

An impactite is a rock that has been formed or significantly altered by the effects of a meteorite impact. This includes impact breccias, impact melt rocks and other materials transformed by the extreme temperatures and pressures generated during an impact event.

What is impact glass?

Impact glass is natural glass produced when terrestrial rocks or sediments melt during a meteorite impact and cool rapidly before crystallising.

Is impact glass the same as a tektite?

Not always. Tektites are a specialised type of natural impact glass that was ejected from an impact site and deposited over recognised strewn fields. Other impact glasses, such as Libyan Desert Glass and Darwin Glass, are generally classified separately.

Are impactites meteorites?

No. Impactites originate from Earth's rocks that have been transformed by a meteorite impact. They are not fragments of the impacting meteorite itself.

Why are impactites and impact glass collectible?

Collectors value these materials for their geological significance, rarity and direct connection to some of Earth's most important meteorite impact events.
