Discover our collection of Mundrabilla, one of the largest and most remarkable iron meteorites ever discovered in Australia.

Recovered from the remote Nullarbor Plain in Western Australia, Mundrabilla is an officially recognised Iron Meteorite classified as an ungrouped medium octahedrite. The first fragments were discovered in 1911, with numerous additional masses subsequently recovered across an extensive strewn field spanning approximately 90 kilometres.

Scientific research indicates that Mundrabilla formed during the earliest history of the Solar System around 4.56 billion years ago. During its long residence on Earth, the meteorite has developed a distinctive weathered exterior while preserving the metallic iron-nickel structure that makes iron meteorites so highly valued by collectors and researchers alike.

Mundrabilla is particularly significant for its immense size. With a total known weight exceeding 22 tonnes, it ranks among the largest meteorites ever recovered on Earth and represents one of Australia's most important meteorite discoveries.

Our collection showcases Mundrabilla specimens selected for their provenance, recognised classification and scientific significance.

As our collection continues to grow, additional Mundrabilla specimens and preparations will be added.
