GeoFossils is a family-run specialist retailer of crystals, minerals, fossils and meteorites, based in Twickenham, Greater London.
Established in 2012, GeoFossils has grown from its roots in crystals and holistic tools into an extensive and continually evolving collection of natural history specimens, collector minerals, fossils, meteorites, fluorescent minerals, lapidary pieces, jewellery and specialist material from around the world.
At the heart of GeoFossils is curiosity. We do not simply want to know the name of a specimen. We want to understand what it is, where it came from, how it formed, why it looks the way it does and what makes it scientifically, historically or culturally interesting.
Crystals, Minerals & Natural History
Our collection brings together both the traditional and scientific sides of the crystal and mineral world.
We stock crystals traditionally associated with meditation, spiritual practice and personal intention alongside natural mineral specimens selected for their mineralogy, crystal habit, locality, rarity and collector interest.
Our wider natural history collections include fossils, meteorites, impact materials and unusual geological specimens, allowing new collectors and experienced enthusiasts alike to explore billions of years of Earth and Solar System history.
We believe these different approaches can comfortably sit alongside one another. A specimen can be appreciated for its beauty, traditional associations, geological formation and scientific significance without one needing to replace the other.
Meteorites & Planetary Materials
Meteorites have become an important specialist area for GeoFossils.
Our collection encompasses the major meteorite groups, including chondrites, achondrites, iron meteorites and stony-iron meteorites, together with lunar and Martian meteorites and rarer classified material.
For us, their fascination goes far beyond rarity. Meteorites provide physical evidence of processes that occurred during the formation and evolution of the Solar System.
We have a particular interest in meteorite classification, parent bodies, mineralogy, petrology and provenance. Where applicable, our research draws upon recognised classifications and information published through the Meteoritical Bulletin Database.
Fluorescent Minerals
Fluorescent mineralogy is another growing specialism within GeoFossils.
Our fluorescent collections explore minerals according to their response to different ultraviolet wavelengths, including long-wave (LW), medium-wave (MW) and short-wave (SW) UV.
We also work with specimens displaying more unusual behaviours, including multicolour fluorescence, phosphorescence and tenebrescence, as well as fluorescent fossils and specialist collector material.
The science behind fluorescence is part of what makes these specimens so fascinating. Activator elements, crystal chemistry, impurities and mineral structure can transform an apparently ordinary specimen when it is examined under ultraviolet light.
Authenticity, Provenance & Responsible Identification
We believe collectors should understand what they are buying.
Where reliable information is available, we research and document specimen identity, classification, locality, provenance and relevant geological or scientific information.
This is particularly important with meteorites, rare minerals and unusual geological material, where accurate classification and provenance can form a significant part of a specimen's importance.
We are equally committed to acknowledging the limits of available information. Older collections and specimens entering the mineral trade do not always retain complete locality or provenance records. Where something cannot be established with reasonable confidence, we would rather say so than present speculation as fact.
Our aim is simple: describe specimens as accurately, transparently and responsibly as the available evidence allows.

GeoFossils also provides a dedicated wholesale service to independent retailers, crystal shops, therapists, practitioners and other trade customers.
Our wholesale customers have access to the breadth of the GeoFossils range, supported by the product knowledge and sourcing experience we have developed through years of working directly with crystals, minerals, fossils and specialist natural materials.
Live Sales & Our Community
For us, collecting should also be enjoyable.
Our live sales have created a community where customers can see specimens closely, ask questions, discover new material and learn more about what they are buying in real time.
Rather than simply presenting an item and a price, we enjoy discussing locality, mineralogy, geological formation, fossil history, meteorite classification and, where appropriate, the traditional metaphysical associations of crystals.

Despite how much GeoFossils has grown, we remain a family-run business.
Behind the website is a real team sourcing, unpacking, researching, photographing, cataloguing and handling an extraordinarily diverse range of material.
Sometimes we know immediately what has arrived. Sometimes an unusual mineral, fossil or meteorite sends us straight to reference material, mineralogical databases, scientific papers and classification records.
We rather like it that way.
