This Green Moss Agate 6 Sided Pendulum is crafted from natural Moss Agate and polished into a classic six-sided faceted point.
Each pendulum is suspended from a silver plated chain and finished with a round Clear Quartz holding bead, providing a comfortable point from which to hold the pendulum.
Green Moss Agate is a distinctive variety of Chalcedony, part of the wider Quartz mineral family. It is recognised for its translucent to milky background containing intricate green, moss-like or branching inclusions.
Despite their organic appearance, these fascinating patterns are not pieces of moss, plants or other vegetation. They are naturally occurring mineral inclusions formed during the stone's geological development.
Unlike many traditional agates, Moss Agate often lacks the distinctive colour banding normally associated with Agate. The name has nevertheless become firmly established within the mineral, gemstone and lapidary trades.
Every pendulum displays its own combination of green inclusions, transparency, pattern and colour, making each piece individually distinctive.
Suitable for mineral and crystal collectors, traditional dowsing practices, decorative collections or as a distinctive gift.
Geological & Material Information

Typical Appearance: Colourless, translucent or milky Chalcedony with green mineral inclusions
Pendulum Shape: 6 sided faceted point
Chain: Silver plated
Holding Bead: Round Clear Quartz
Moss Agate consists primarily of microcrystalline Quartz in the form of Chalcedony. Its characteristic landscape-like appearance comes from naturally occurring mineral inclusions rather than fossilised vegetation.
The green inclusions can form branching, filament-like and cloud-like patterns that resemble moss, foliage or miniature landscapes trapped within the stone.
The distribution and concentration of these inclusions can vary dramatically, meaning one pendulum may appear predominantly translucent while another displays dense areas of green patterning.
Is Moss Agate Really Agate?
The name is slightly misleading from a mineralogical perspective.
Moss Agate belongs to the Chalcedony family, as do conventional agates. However, traditional Agate is generally characterised by distinctive banding, while Moss Agate is usually identified by its moss-like mineral inclusions rather than regular bands.
For this reason, Moss Agate is often more accurately described mineralogically as an included variety of Chalcedony, although the name Moss Agate is firmly established and widely recognised throughout the gemstone and mineral trades.
Is the Green Material Actually Moss?
No.
The green patterns inside Moss Agate are mineral inclusions and are not preserved moss, plants or vegetation.
Their branching and organic-looking structures simply resemble natural moss and foliage, which is how the material acquired its familiar name.

Please Note
Green Moss Agate is a natural mineral material, so colour, translucency, inclusions, pattern and the concentration of green markings will vary between individual pendulums.
The moss-like structures visible within the stone are natural mineral inclusions and not organic moss or plant material.
Natural inclusions, internal features and small surface variations are characteristic of natural stone and are not necessarily imperfections.
We will randomly choose a pendulum from our collection for you.
