Own a genuine fragment of the Campo del Cielo meteorite, one of the world's best-known historic iron meteorites. Choose your preferred weight from 6–7g through to 10–11g, supplied with your choice of a black or white floating display.
Campo del Cielo, meaning “Field of the Sky”, is an extensive meteorite strewn field in the Gran Chaco region of Argentina. The iron meteorites are associated with a prehistoric fall approximately 4,000–5,000 years ago, while the first documented European investigation of the material dates to 1576.
Classified as an IAB-MG iron meteorite, Campo del Cielo consists predominantly of iron and nickel. Individual specimens have distinctive natural shapes and surfaces created by fragmentation, atmospheric passage and thousands of years of terrestrial exposure.
Rather than using a generic Small, Medium or Large classification, GeoFossils allows you to choose a defined weight range, making it easier to select a specimen to suit your collection, display or budget.
Choose Your Meteorite Weight
| Weight Range | Description |
|---|---|
| 6–7g | Compact collector specimen |
| 7–8g | Small display specimen |
| 8–9g | Substantial hand-selected specimen |
| 9–10g | Larger collector specimen |
| 10–11g | Largest specimen available within this listing |
Each meteorite is individually selected from the chosen weight range. Shape, dimensions, surface texture and appearance will naturally vary from specimen to specimen.
Floating Display Included
Every Campo del Cielo meteorite is supplied with a floating display. The transparent flexible membranes hold the meteorite within the frame, allowing it to be viewed from both sides while keeping the specimen attractively presented.
Please select black or white when ordering. If no colour preference is specified, we will automatically supply black.
