This exceptional specimen features salmon-pink Serandite crystals intergrown with deep green Epidote on a contrasting matrix. The Serandite displays sharp, well-formed crystals with a glassy luster and subtle transparency, while the Epidote presents elongated blades that offer dramatic contrast and mineralogical interest.

Collected from the famed Poudrette Quarry—a globally renowned site for rare and exotic mineral species—this combination piece showcases the aesthetic and mineralogical diversity unique to Mont Saint-Hilaire. The sharp crystal habit and colour contrast make this a standout for cabinet display or advanced systematic collections.

Location:
Poudrette Quarry, Mont Saint-Hilaire, La Vallée-du-Richelieu RCM, Montérégie, Québec, Canada
Please note you will receive the exact mineral as shown in image.

Crystal Group:
Inosilicate (Serandite) and Sorosilicate (Epidote)
Serandite: Triclinic Crystal System
Epidote: Monoclinic Crystal System

Hardness (Mohs Scale):
Serandite: 5 – 5.5
Epidote: 6 – 7

Collector Notes

• Ideal for: Cabinet displays, high-end systematic collections, academic reference

• Stability: Serandite can be light-sensitive; store away from prolonged UV exposure

• Associations: Often found with aegirine, analcime, natrolite, and albite at this locality

Rarity Factor:
Rare – Serandite is highly sought after by collectors for its salmon-pink crystals and is considered a signature species of Mont Saint-Hilaire. Combination pieces with Epidote from this location are scarce and increasingly difficult to acquire due to restricted quarry access.
