Mineral Composition
Angelite is a blue variety of anhydrite (CaSO₄), a calcium sulfate mineral without water in its crystal structure. Its pale blue colour is caused by trace mineral inclusions, and it has a Mohs hardness of 3–3.5, making it relatively soft and best handled with care. Over time, exposure to water can cause angelite to transform into gypsum.
