This Ruby in Fuchsite Raw Mineral Specimen combines vivid natural Ruby crystals with contrasting green Fuchsite. The unpolished surface preserves the specimen’s natural texture, colour variations and metamorphic formation.
Ruby is the red variety of Corundum, while Fuchsite is a chromium-rich variety of Muscovite mica. Chromium contributes to the green colour of Fuchsite and the red colour of Ruby.
Under long-wave ultraviolet light (LW UV), the Ruby may display red fluorescence. The strength and coverage of the reaction can vary across the specimen. UV equipment, wavelength and ambient lighting may also affect its appearance.
Each specimen weighs approximately 50g and measures approximately 50mm. As this is a natural mineral, minor variations and irregularities form part of the piece.
Mineral Composition
Ruby is a variety of Corundum with the chemical formula Al₂O₃. Its red colour is primarily caused by traces of chromium.
Fuchsite is a chromium-rich variety of Muscovite mica with the approximate formula K(Al,Cr)₂(AlSi₃O₁₀)(OH)₂. Natural specimens may also contain Quartz and other associated minerals.
Metaphysical Properties
In crystal traditions, Ruby is associated with vitality, determination and confidence. Fuchsite is linked with emotional balance, self-worth and personal growth. Together, they are often chosen to represent the balance between purposeful action and compassionate awareness.
These traditional associations are spiritual in nature and are not a substitute for professional medical advice or treatment.

Approximate Weight and Size
Approximately ~50g and ~50mm.
Hardness
Ruby: 9 on the Mohs scale
Fuchsite: approximately 2–3 on the Mohs scale
The softer Fuchsite matrix can flake or mark more easily than the Ruby crystals. Handle carefully and avoid prolonged exposure to water, chemicals and abrasive surfaces.
