Ammonite from the Cretaceous of Madagascar. These impressive ammonites have been cut in half and both halves have been highly polished for optimal display. The coiling pattern of the cephalopod is easily seen, and the individual chambers of the ammonite are wonderfully showcased. MANY of the chambers are hollow and lined with beautiful calcite crystals, like miniature geodes. And the ammonite is fully complete, down to its tiniest inner whorls. These are beautiful fossils, perfect for any fossil collection.
